Teaching & Professional Experience

With four years of teaching experience in Computer Science, Shuvam has worked in both academic institutions and professional training environments. He has served as a Java Trainer at GIFT, where he trained students in:

  • Core Java programming
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving
  • Hands-on coding and application development

He has also worked as a Guest Lecturer at IIIT Bhubaneswar, contributing to academic instruction and mentoring. His role involved teaching core Computer Science subjects, guiding students through practical laboratory sessions, assisting in academic activities, and supporting students in building strong technical foundations.

Teaching Methodology & Learning Approach

Shuvam strongly believes that complex concepts should be simplified, not memorized. His teaching approach ensures that even difficult topics and doubts are explained clearly and patiently until students gain complete understanding.

He offers guidance and support for computer projects in Java, Python, MySQL, and related technologies, helping students apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.

His teaching methods combine both teacher-centered and student-centered approaches:

  • Teacher-centered methods, such as structured lectures, are used to introduce core concepts clearly.
  • Student-centered methods, including problem-based learning and inquiry-based discussions, encourage active participation, collaboration, and independent thinking.

To enhance comprehension and retention, Shuvam follows a reinforcement-based learning strategy, where course material is repeated multiple times with 10-minute breaks between sessions. These short breaks allow students to refresh their minds through light physical movement or mindfulness practices, helping them stay focused and absorb concepts more effectively.

Teaching Philosophy

Education, according to Shuvam, should be student-friendly, practical, and confidence-building. His focus remains on:

  • Simplifying complex doubts and concepts
  • Encouraging active learning and curiosity
  • Providing hands-on lab and project guidance
  • Creating a supportive and comfortable learning environment

Fluent in English, he communicates ideas clearly and effectively, ensuring students from different backgrounds feel confident and supported.

Through his dedication to teaching and continuous learning, Shuvam Sahoo strives to prepare students not only for exams, but for real-world challenges, professional growth, and lifelong success in the field of Computer Science.
